The office design

The Janabahaa Heritage Information Center office was designed by professional architect Umesh Tamrakar. Not only did he do that completely voluntarily, it was done overnight. Most of the plans envisioned in the drawing has been carried out.

The logo, finally

The fourth (and hopefully the final) version of the logo, depicting a lotus flower flanked by five leaves in a pool of blue water. Anyone care to elaborate on the meaning of these icons? Just hit the "comments" button below.

Janabahaa courtyard drawing

This 1:200 drawing of the Janabahaa courtyard with measurements of the main shrine, chaityas and other objects of religious and archeological importance was developed by Graphic Survey & Design Consult in December 2005.

Highlighting ancient inscriptions

Sakimila Punih at Janabahaa

Sakimila Punih was celebrated with a flurry of activities at Janabahaa today. Some members of the Jyapu community enjoyed a hearty feast during the daytime after completion of religious ceremonies. Alok Tuladhar and family sell the new year calendar published by the Society at the cultural parade ceremony organized at Basantapur on the occasion of Nepal Sambat new year 1127 (Mha Puja). The calendar, with Gregorian, Bikram Sambat and Nepal Sambat dates, is available for sale at a nominal cost of Rs. 10 per copy at the Janabahaa Heritage Information Center at Janabahaa or at Nati Bajra's book shop (Safu Dhukuu) at Bhotahity. Then speaking a few words in appreciation of the work done. 

Peole coming forward to become members of the Jana Baha Society. We obtain 34 instant membership that day. 

All people attending were given a folder containing the brochure, certificate of appreciation and things needed to be done in Janabaha.

People were encouraged to join the Jana Baha Society contributing a one off Rs. 100. This 100 symbolizing the willingness to visit at least 100 times every year the Baha and hopefully participate in the activities to the society.

Janabaha Heritage and Information Centre Inauguration

This was the inauguration of Janabaha Heritage and Information Centre Inauguration. It was amazing that with an initial budget of Rs. 25,000, we rented a room, design format created by Umesh Tamrakar( architect) got it painted and carpeted, got the carpenter to make the tables and benches, the mattresses made and the electrical points fitted to light up the wall hangings. The logo was designed, pads made, certificate of appreciation made,brochure created, website created and several hours spent on photoshop programme to make the two banners. ALL THIS WAS ACHIEVED IN FOUR DAYS TIME!!!!.

So congratulations to the whole team. Alok Tuladhar, Umesh Tamrakar, Tirtha Dhar Tuladhar, Prabodh Kansakar and Bal dai especially deserve praise for the hard work. Many others had contributed as well.
